ABOUT THE WONDERFUL WIZARD OF OZ

“But don’t you see? You have everything you wanted already!”

Follow the adventures of a Kansas farm girl named Dorothy and her pet dog Toto, as they are swept away by a cyclone into Munchkin Country in the magical Land of Oz.  Granted a pair of enchanted silver shoes by the Good Witch of the North, Dorothy befriends a Scarecrow, a Tin Woodman, and a Cowardly Lion in her quest to get to the Emerald City and find her way back home.  Many trials await them including battling the Wicked Witch of the West and her Winged Monkeys.  One of America’s most famous and truly loved fairy tales!

Gamut Theatre’s Young Acting Company presents The Wonderful Wizard of Oz written by Sean Adams, an original work based on the book by L. Frank Baum. This much-beloved story has been adapted into a full-length play to be performed by students, ages 6 through 18.

Indicate in your email the first and last name of the student that was cast and let us know if we have any names spelled incorrectly.  If we do not receive an email from you, we will assume you do not wish to be cast.  Please be sure to read through the entire cast list as many students have been cast in more than one role. All students that are cast and at least one parent/guardian are required to attend the Full Company Parent Info Meeting & Readthrough on Monday, January 27 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Gamut Theatre.  This mandatory meeting is extremely important and cannot be missed.  Some younger actors may be dismissed early after the Parent/Cast Meeting.
