PLAY AND COMPENSATION

Gamut Theatre will be holding general open auditions. The roles of Victor Frankenstein, The Creature, and De Lacey have been cast. All other roles, including an understudy role for Victor Frankenstein/The Creature, are available and compensated. Actors receive a one-time stipend at the close of the show. Amount of stipend varies pending size of role.

Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30pm

Sundays at 2:30pm

Wednesday, March 26 at 2:30pm

AUDITION DATES

Actors may choose one of three dates for Open Auditions:

  • Tuesday, November 5: 6pm-8pm

  • Wednesday, November 6: 6pm-8pm

  • Thursday, November 7: 6pm-8pm

If necessary, callbacks will be held:

  • Saturday, November 9: 2:30pm-6pm

If you have an interest in auditioning for Frankenstein but cannot attend any audition date please contact Resident Theatre Manager, Marcus McGhee, at info@gamuttheatre.org to discuss other options.

AUDITION LOCATION

Auditions will be held at Gamut Theatre Group, 15 N Fourth Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101. Street parking is free after 5:00pm. You can receive free parking on Saturdays in 3-hour increments by using the ParkMobile app and entering the “LUVHBG” code.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Select one or two sides from the Audition Sides document. These do not have to be memorized. You may bring a scene partner with you, or Gamut will provide scene partners for you to read with.

  • If you are interested in the role of Elizabeth, please read the note found HERE.

  • If you are interested in the role of The Female Creature, you may prepare a one-minute movement or dance piece to showcase movement ability.

  • Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled audition time.

  • Complete the AUDITION FORM prior to auditions.

  • You may upload your resume digitally on your AUDITION FORM. You do not need to bring printed out resume. If you don’t have a resume, that is ok. Simply indicate on the form your prior experience.

  • Upon arrival, you will be asked to fill out a schedule conflict sheet. Please be prepared, as this information will impact the rehearsal schedule.

  • Please schedule an audition appointment to reserve your spot. See scheduling below.

AUDITION SCHEDULING PROCEDURE

Those auditioning will sign up for an audition day using the AUDITION FORM. You will then be given a 10-minute time slot via email. You will be asked to perform one or two audition sides of your choosing on the audition day. If you have any questions about scheduling or require assistance, please contact our Resident Theatre Manager, Marcus McGhee at info@gamuttheatre.org.

CALLBACKS

Callbacks will be held on November 9, if necessary. If you are not called back, you are still being considered for a role.

STUDENT ACTORS

If you are a young actor (ages 8-13) you may audition for the role of William/Willa Frankenstein. Please read this note with a parent/guardian before signing up to audition: WILLIAM/WILLA Note. Any actors under the age of 18 must have parental approval to audition.

REHEARSALS

Gamut Theatre rehearsals generally occur weekday evenings and weekend afternoons or evenings. Not everyone will be called to every rehearsal. Please indicate what time you would be able to start rehearsing on weekdays and weekends as well as any pre-existing time commitments on your scheduling conflict sheet which will be provided at your audition.

Please be honest and up-front regarding any conflicts you think you may have. Sometimes (but not always) we can schedule around things if we know the situation in advance.
